About ShoreGap
ShoreGap is an independent price index for cruise shore excursions. It answers one question per port: is the ship's excursion worth it, or is the same kind of tour cheaper and safe enough to book yourself?
What we publish
- 80 cruise ports across the Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexico, Central America, Alaska, Hawaii, Bermuda, Canada and Europe.
- Ship excursion prices for Carnival and NCL, recorded from each line's public excursion catalogue on 2026-11-02.
- Independent prices for 18 tour types from GetYourGuide, checked 2026-11-02.
- A 1 to 5 safety score per port and tour type, pier distances and all-aboard buffers.
Independence
ShoreGap is not affiliated with any cruise line or tour operator. Links to GetYourGuide carry a partner ID and may earn a commission; that never changes which tours are compared or how prices are calculated. Rankings come straight from the data.
Updates
Ship prices are refreshed each cruise season and independent prices more often. Every page shows the date it was last updated.
Cite or reuse the data
The full dataset behind every page is available as excursions.csv. Please cite "ShoreGap cruise excursion price index (shoregap.com), November 2026". The methodology explains every number.
